Semi fire shuts down interstate at Kentucky/Tennessee line

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The interstate was shut down after a tractor-trailer caught fire in the early morning hours of Friday near the Kentucky/Tennessee state line.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, a fire sparked in the semi’s trailer around 12:45 a.m. on I-24 East just before mile marker 1. Officers responded to the interstate and closed both eastbound lanes while Clarksville Fire & Rescue crews worked to put out the fire.
Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.

Motorists were forced to exit I-24 East at Pembroke Oak Grove Road in Kentucky and make their way through Oak Grove and Clarksville to get around the closed portion of the interstate.
It took several hours for fire crews to extinguish the fire and for the debris to be removed from the roadway. I-24 East reopened just after 3 a.m.
Clarksville PD reported that no one was injured during the incident.
