Over $1M awarded for Renewable Projects in Kentucky

FRANKFORT,Ky.(WBKO)-Gov.BeshearandEnergyandEnvironmentCabinetSecretaryRebeccaGoodmantodayawarded$1.4millionforcommunity projects thatpromotetheuseofrecycledKentuckywastetiresandhelpsupporthealthy,outdooractivitiesforKentuckyfamilies.
Fundingfor37projectsin31countiesincludebenches,picnictables,andpoured-in-placesurfacingforwalkingtrails,walkways,fitnessareas,andplaygroundsusingrecycledwastetires.
“Thisprogramtakesaproblem–wastetiresinKentucky–andturnsitintoopportunity,”saidGov.Beshear.“TheseprojectssupportourNewKentuckyHomeandprovideoutdoorresourceslikewalkingtrailsandupdatedplaygroundsthatsupportanactivelifestyleforourfamilies.”
