Dog rescued from a cliff in Mercer County, 100 feet above the Kentucky River

MERCERCOUNTY,Ky.(LEX18)—OnThursday,firstrespondersrescuedadogstrandedonacliffinMercerCountyabout100feetabovetheKentuckyRiver.
AccordingtoJessamineCountyEmergencyManagement,theMercerCountyFireProtectionDistrictrequestedtheassistanceofJessamineCountyforroperescuetechniciansaftertheyweremadeawareofananimalindistress.
JCEMsaysthatthey,alongwithJessamineFire,NicholasvilleFire,andJessamineAnimalCareandControl,respondedtothescene.Theywereabletobuildaropesystemonafarmoverlookingthecliffandgainaccesstowherethedogwasstranded.
AccordingtoJCEM,NicholasvilleFireDepartmentCaptainMichaelPricewasselectedtohelpintherescueduetohisexperiencewithanimals.Hewasabletogainthedog’strustandapplyamuzzleandharnesstorescueit.
Severalcrewsassessedthedog’scondition,andachipwasfound,accordingtoJCEM.Theyareworkingtocontacttheregisteredowners.
JCEMsaysthatitisunknownhowlongthedogwasstrandedontheclifforhowitendedupwhereitwaslocated.
