Calloway County in Kentucky Boys Basketball Sweet 16 — Dad and Son; Fathers Day comes early for Lanes … with Rupp visit

MURRAY— Calloway County boys basketball assistant Bruce Lane and son Stephen, a Laker guard, are peas from the same pod. 
They both love the game. They love the work that goes into becoming good at the game (that is obvious … both achieved 80-plus% success rates at the all-important foul line in their senior seasons). And yes, they both love to win.
However, one is getting to do what the other did not … play in a state tournament. Bruce was a standout guard in the late 1980s at Hickman County and one of the best players in all of western Kentucky, but he and the Falcons could not get past the Region 1 title game. That is OK, though, because Stephen is getting that chance in his senior season as a Laker, with Bruce coming with him for Wednesday’s encounter with Ashland Paul Blazer in famed Rupp Arena in Lexington.
