Jim Caldwell’s Forecast | Temps keep surging until a strong storm system sweeps through Kentucky
—
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Kentucky is experiencing unseasonably warm March weather as we monitor a significant weekend storm system. Expect potentially dangerous thunderstorms, strong winds, and substantial rainfall.
Until the weekend arrives, we’ll enjoy a period of true spring with daytime temperatures consistently in the mid to upper 70s. Some areas could even reach 80 degrees today and again on Friday. A weak weather disturbance may bring a scattered shower or thunderstorm late tonight into Thursday.
Here’s an overview of the anticipated weekend weather:
FRIDAY: Temperatures will climb to the 75-80 degree range under mostly sunny conditions. Southwesterly winds will strengthen, with gusts possibly reaching 30-40 mph by late afternoon.
