APikeville,Kentuckymanhasbeensentencedto33yearsinprisonfordrugtraffickingandfirearmspossession.SamuelC.Atkins,aged52,receivedthesentencefromU.S.DistrictChiefJudgeDannyC.Reevesforhisinvolvementindistributingfentanylandfluorofentanyl,aswellaspossessingfirearmsillegally. CourtdocumentsrevealthatonJanuary3,2023,theU.S.MarshalsServiceFugitiveTaskForcefoundAtkinsataresidenceinRichmondwhileexecutingtwostatearrestwarrantsagainsthim.Duringtheirsearchofthepremises,authoritiesdiscoveredsixteenfirearmsalongwithmethamphetamineandfluorofentanylinAtkins’sbedroom.Despitehavingpriorfelonyconvictions,Atkinsadmittedtoacquiringsomeoftheseweaponsthroughhisdrugtraffickingactivities.
