Beyondraisingrabbitsforhertoshow,Salmon’smothertaughthertheartofcanning.Shehasmemoriesofmakingpickleswithhermothergoingback50years.

“Atsomepoint,Iwasabletohavemyowngarden,andcontinuedcanning,andIenteredintheOldhamCountyFairbackinthe80s,andgotacoupleofribbonsthereandalsoenteredafewentriesatthestatefair,blackberrypieandgreenbeans,”Salmonsaid.
