AMadisonCountysheriff’sdeputyhasbeenchargedwithDUIforallegedlydrivingdrunkandcausingawreckthatsentamotorcyclisttoahospital,accordingtoKentuckyStatePolice. Thecrashhappenedjustbefore11p.m.SaturdayonCharlieNorrisRoadinMadisonCounty.KSPsaidJonathonThompsonofRichmond,pulledinfrontofPrestonLambart,21,ofRichmond,onCharlieNorrisRoadandcametoastopwhileattemptingtomakealeft-handturnintoaresidence.LambartcollidedwiththerearofThompson’svehicle. ThompsonisadeputywiththeMadisonCountySheriff’sOffice.KSPsaidhewasoff-dutyatthetimeofthecollision. LambartwastransportedtoUniversityofKentuckyChandlerHospitalwithnon-life-threateninginjuries,accordingtoKSP.It’sunknownifThompsonwasinjuredinthecollision. Thompsonexhibitedsignsofalcoholintoxicationandwasarrested,KSPsaid.HeisfacingchargesofDUI(firstoffense)andsecond-degreeassault.
