Jim Caldwell’s Forecast | A lot of steam before Beryl’s rains reach us  WKYT

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A sultry air mass will settle over the region today as the humidity begins to ramp up in anticipation of Beryl’s arrival.
Temperatures will hover around a scorching 90 degrees Fahrenheit, but the heat index will make it feel even more oppressive, soaring to 95 degrees or higher. This is not just a typical summer heat wave but rather the early signs of a tropical system’s influence.
Moisture Surge Ahead of Beryl
As Beryl tracks towards our area, a plume of deep tropical moisture will begin to push into our region. This will lead to increasingly humid conditions, making the air feel heavy and sticky. The atmosphere will be primed for intense thunderstorms, some of which may become strong to severe.
