In2023, thenumberofpeoplewhodiedfromoverdosesin Kentucky fellby nearly10%. Thismarks thesecondyearinarowthecommonwealthhasseenadecline inoverdosedeaths.
KentuckyGovernorAndyBeshearearlierthisyearannouncedthenumberofliveslosttodrugoverdoses.HesaidthisissadlysomethingthatisalltocommonforKentucky’scitizens.

Accordingtothe2023KentuckyDrugOverdoseFatalityReport,overdosedeathsinthecommonwealthdecreasedforthesecondyearinarow,with2023seeinga9.8%decreasecomparedwiththepreviousyear.Thegovernorsaidit’sstillpainfulforthosewhoareleftbehind.
