LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Kentucky man was in disbelief after finding out he won $50,000 on a Powerball ticket.
Stanford Meyers bought the ticket earlier this month at Center Court Food Mart in Leitchfield.
Meyers said the ticket sat on his desk for several days before he finally checked it.

When he pulled up the website, he thought he won $150. But when he took it to a store later that day to get it scanned, the clerk told him he had actually won $50,000.
Meyers couldn’t believe it and had the clerk scan the ticket three more times. He received $36,000 after taxes.
“I don’t get too excited,” he said. “I’ll wait until I have the check in the bank.”
Kentucky Lottery officials said Meyers’ ticket matched four white ball numbers and the Powerball number in the drawing on May 4.
The food mart he purchased the ticket from will get $500 for selling the winning ticket.
