ButthisyearmorethanhalfofthestateracesinKentuckywillbedecidedbytheendoftheprimaryelection.
Forsomecandidates,filingtheirpaperworktorunhasessentiallysecuredthemtheirofficebecausenooneelsefiledtorunagainstthem.In20races,thecandidatewhowinstheprimarywillnotfaceanopponentinthegeneralelection,meaningthey’llbasicallygetthejob.
Lastyear,however,only14.5%ofKentucky’sregisteredvoterscastaballotintheprimary.
Local,stateandfederalleadersareresponsibleformakingdecisionsthatdirectlyimpactpeople’sdailylives.WeknowKentuckianscareaboutthedirectiontheirstateisheadedandareeagertolearnmoreabouttheirelectedleaders.
