‘It’s not a surprise:’ Marion County trained racehorse wins the Kentucky Derby  WCJB

MARION COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) -Mystik Dan is a three-year-old American thoroughbred racehorse who was trained at Silverleaf Hills Training Center in Marion County.
Following those years of training, this year the colt took home the first-place prize in the Kentucky Derby.
Peter Vesgo is a breeder and racer with more than 30 years of experience. He owns Lord Miles who also qualified for the derby.
