AfteraJeffersonCountyCircuitCourtjudgedeniedAmrZedanRacingStables’requestforatemporaryrestrainingorder againstChurchillDowns,thegroupfiledanappealtotheKentuckyCourtofAppeals.
ZedanistheownerofArkansasDerbywinnerMuth—whoistrainedbyBaffert—andishopefulofgettingthehorseeligiblefor the150th runningoftheKentuckyDerbyonMay4atChurchillDowns.
OnApril3,AmrZedanfiledacivillawsuitpetitioningtoallowhishorsestrainedbyBafferttocompeteinthe150thKentuckyDerby.JudgeMitchPerryrecentlydeniedthatrequestafterthreehearingsoverthepasttwoweeks.
