National Divorce Rate Statistics: Kentucky ranks high for divorce Courier Journal

It seems love isn’t in the air for Kentuckians. According to a recent study from Forbes Advisor, the state falls in the top five for divorce rates nationally.
While divorce rates have been on a downward trend since 2008, Kentuckians, especially, have room to be concerned. Here’s what we know:

Per1,000marriedwomeninKentuckyin2022,19.52%weredivorcing,and12.6%ofthetotalpopulationwasdivorced.Thecostofdivorcebasedonmedianmarriedhouseholdincomeinpercentagewas7.53%,withanaveragedivorcecostingbetween$15,000and$20,000.
